The Flagler Palm Coast Amateur Radio Club (located in Grid Square EL99) was organized for the purpose of bringing together local ham radio operators having a common interest in the hobby of Amateur Radio and a willingness to serve the community through their expertise in the field of communication. Membership in the club is open to anyone who is of good moral character, is in good standings with the FCC and who hold a valid operator's license. Non-licensed individuals are welcome to join the club as associated members.
It is evident, by the large number of regional call signs displayed on the club's roster, that the members of the club represent amateurs from all over the United States. This vast amount of expertise and radio knowledge gives FPCARC a special ability to assist, train, and work with both new and experienced operators and use their skills in the service of the local community.
The club sponsors social events each year, which are well attended by the membership and many of their spouses. An annual Field Day and mini-Field days are planned through the year. Local hams gather each Friday morning at a local restaurant to have breakfast, meet with other amateurs and enjoy some lively discussion on just about anything. Although, not an official club activity, these weekly gatherings are well attended by FPCARC members.
FPCARC boasts of one of the most active YL groups in any radio club. Not only are the YL very supportive with the club's social functions, they have their own monthly breakfast meetings. Sorry, guys, we are not allowed at the ladies day out. What a great chance for the YL's to get to know each other and to talk about something other than Ham Radio. No one can understand why they don't discuss the hobby, as several are licensed operators themselves.

Several of the female HAMS and XYLs met today, 12-19-97, for a holiday cookie exchange at the Ferguson QTH. Attending were Marilyn Depoalo, Pam Ferguson, Sally Horvath, Liz Milton, Susan Sauro, and Ariel and Kelly Sturridge. Unable to attend, but sending cookies in her place, was Inge Ipolyi.
Santa had left presents for everyone and we had a lot of fun deciding whether to keep our surprise gift or "steal" someone else's present.
Then we spent the afternoon sitting around the table sampling the wonderful cookies everyone had brought and drinking coffee, tea and hot chocolate while solving the problems of the modern world.
Finally everyone gathered in the kitchen to fill trays with a huge assortment of home baked cookies. There were lots of hugs and wishes for a very Merry Christmas as we headed home to hungry husbands well stocked with a great variety of holiday cookies.

The Flagler Palm Coast Amateur Radio Club meeting will be held on Tuesday June 3rd, 2008 at 7PM at the Flagler County EOC.
